Moira Live on Overwatch’s PTR, More Hero Changes Incoming

Overwatch‘s 26th hero, Irish geneticist, Moira, is now playable on the game’s Public Test Region (PTR) along with some minor tweaks and bug fixes for Ana, Junkrat, Mercy and Roadhog.

While Moira’s abilities were showcased during her BlizzCon announcement, the Talon-affiliated scientist’s skins were kept hidden until today. Among the usual recolors are red (Fiery), purple (Royal), cyan (Selkie) and yellow (Whiskey) variations which were documented in Reddit thread. Her epic tier skins mix Moira’s looks up more, by working with a nearly all white outfit (Pale) and a green and gold coat (Ornate).

Moira’s four legendary skins take an even more dramatic appearance through her blueish-purple Minister and white and gold Oasis looks following the geneticist’s lore as the Minister of Genetics in Oasis. The other two top-tier skins draw from 1970s rock aesthetics, particularly modeled after David Bowie and members of KISS. Appropriately named Glam, the Bowie-esque skin strikes a resemblance to the artist’s Aladdin Sane character. Moon gives Moira a heavy coating of white and black makeup that fits in with the band’s iconic imagery.

Besides Moira’s addition to the roster, Ana and Mercy received some fixes to address problems with how the heroes play. Ana only received one change this time, an increase to her Biotic Rifle’s damage output from 60 to 70, which developers hope gives to make the sniper a better support pick.

The development team is still tweaking Mercy’s kit as they said players felt the Valkyrie rework was unfair to play against. Mercy’s Resurrect now has a 1.75 second cast time instead of instantly reviving a fallen teammate. In this period, Mercy’s movement speed has been reduced by 75 percent and revives can be interrupted. Entering Valkyrie removes the cast time and movement speed reduction entirely.

Junkrat and Roadhog also received changes in the form of bug fixes. An issue regarding Junkrat trying to cast RIP-Tire while jumping was fixed in addition to Roadhog’s seemingly off-screen appearances and grappling other heroes for longer than it should being remedied.

As with most PTR additions, which are only playable on PC, these features will eventually hit the console versions in the near future.
