Modus Games Reveals Announcement Trailer and Demo for Cris Tales During E3 2019 PC Game Show

Dreams Uncorporated and Modus Games unveil the official announcement trailer for their “love letter to classic JRPGs” (Japanese role-playing games), Cris Tales, during the E3 2019 PC Game Show. The 2D hand-drawn action-adventure RPG is filled with gorgeous artwork and a quite layered and multi-branching storyline. If you happened to miss the reveal, you can view the trailer below.

According to the team, Cris Tales draws inspiration from both classic and modern games, such as Final Fantasy VI, Chrono Trigger, and Persona 5. The game follows the adventures of Crisbell, a newly awakened Time Mage, who begins a dangerous journey across Crystallis and the four kingdoms in order to prevent the Time Empress from rewriting the future of all of its citizens. Crisbell has the ability to simultaneously view the past, present, and future. Be very observant of the past. There may be helpful secrets that can affect the present. Players will need to help Crisbell make various decisions throughout her adventures, including recruiting powerful allies. Differences in decisions can have varying results. Plan your actions, your battles, and even your party tactfully and carefully.

Interested? Well, you’re in luck. The studio recently announced the game’s debut demo on their Steam Store page. Get first-hand look at the game and the journey Crisbell and her friends embark on. Players can give feedback and share their opinions with the studio team by chatting on Discord. At this time, the demo is only playable for Windows PC players. Access to the demo will be available for about two weeks, until June 24th.

Cris Tales will be playable on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Although no estimated launch date has been shared, the game is currently expected to be released sometime in 2020. Wishlist this title to be notified when it becomes available for download.
