After the much-hyped season 4 of Modern Warfare was postponed last week amid Black Lives Matter protests around the country, and around the world, there has been near radio silence from Activision. Call of Duty released a follow up update a few days later to add a screen that explains that the company stands in support of the BLM movement, but there has been no official word on season 4. That is until a tweet from Infinity Ward this morning.
Intel Incoming on Season Four.
New #ModernWarfare and #Warzone content is live tonight, June 10th @ 11PM PDT!

Season four will be releasing tonight… but there has yet to be an official announcement about what it will contain. We assume that Captain Price will be the primary operator, and that Gaz is coming with him, along with some version of the Galil and the Vector. What we also know is that the update will be huge… but they’re actually trying to help keep the overall file size for the game down now (if you consider a 200GB game small in any way). In a tweet from Ashton Williams, Infinity Ward’s community manager, they are compressing some files, so the 35 to 45 gigabyte update will only result in the game file being about 4 gb larger than it is right now.
The Season 4 download is going to be large. In order to reduce the overall disc space that MW and WZ take up, we’re compressing a bunch of assets. Once installed, the S4 launch will only take up an additional 4GB on consoles for all of the new content.

Of course that means that the game still takes up roughly half of the integrated storage on a base console… but oh well, it sounds like it could have been even bigger.
The update goes live tonight (Wednesday June 10th) at 11pm pacific time, or early Thursday morning accordingly elsewhere, and it is going to be a big one, so if you plan on playing tomorrow, it would be wise to start the update tonight. We will have a full breakdown of everything introduced in the season tomorrow after it is released.
