Word of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare remaster seemed to eclipse the announcement of Infinite Warfare in terms of popularity and hype. Players are dying to jump back into what is considered one of the best games in the franchise. Many would like to play the game instead of the latest franchise. Activision anticipated this and bundled the remaster with Infinite Warfare, possibly as a way to boost hype and sales.
That was tedious enough for fans just wanting to jump into a nostalgia-filled trip, now fans will have to drop $80 just to play a nine-year-old game. Still, you could just download the remaster and sell or trade-in the rest, right?
Wrong.
According to Charlie Intel, site the specializes in Call of Duty news, in order to play the Modern Warfare remaster players are required to have the Infinite Warfare disc in their console. The revelation came when Charlie Intel dug into the legalese buried in the game’s fine print on the game’s website.
Modern Warfare Remastered is a full game download (game disc must be inserted to play Modern Warfare Remastered). Internet connection required.
Charlie Intel clarifies that this does not apply to those who bought the game digitally and that Activision has never used this wording before. On the game’s FAQ, it does say that Infinite Warfare is required to play MWR.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will be out on November 8th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. The Modern Warfare remaster is only available on the Legacy, Legacy Pro, and Digital Deluxe editions of Call of the game.
