Chinese mobile developer Archosaur Games, the team behind Perfect World, Jade Dynasty, Swordsman Online, Fantasy Zhu Xian, and Saint Seiya Online, has announced their next up and coming release. Open world mobile MMORPG Noah’s Heart will be powered by Epic’s Unreal Engine 4. Noah’s Heart is attempting to create a seamless virtual world for mobile devices. Noah’s Heart’s world is meant to feel lived in and offers plenty of paths for players to take from grand adventures to a simple domestic lifestyle.
The setting of Noah’s Heart takes place in a post-civilization world and humans enter a virtual world called “Noah”, which was constructed by a mysterious entity known as the Cube. Noah gives players a chance to explore a world that combines romantic fantasy and steampunk as the players attempt to discover the Cube’s secret and the future of mankind. Archosaur Games utilizes a Procedural Content Generator to create the open world and to limit the number of loading screens as the player travels the mainland to remote locations. As well, Noah’s Heart is designed to encourage exploration and flying around the planet in an airship, thus requiring the open world to be as seamless as possible.
Noah’s Heart takes a special interest with how the players cultivate their relationships with the NPCs around the game world, opening or closing quest paths with each player’s decision. Cultivating deep relationships with NPCs through various actions will result in even more profound effects. Archosaur Games has started intertwining the various side quests with branching narratives, that can impact the main story, such as relevant characters for the main story expiring in a side quest. Noah’s Heart will not be offering any method to undo an action after taking it.
Noah’s Heart is planned for release on mobile devices in 2021, there are not any plans at this point for making a version for consoles or PC.
