The MLB season had finally ended with the Houston Astros winning their first World Series. Even though baseball season is officially over, Sony is trying to tide fans over by revealing the release date for MLB The Show 18. For the U.S. version of the game the New York Yankee’s Aaron Judge will be the cover athlete. For the Canadian version Marcus Stroman of the Toronto Blue Jays will grace the cover.
The game will launch on March 27 exclusively for the Playstation 4. For fans who preorder a physical or digital copy of the game, they will receive 10 stands card packs and 1 legend card. Preorders at Gamestop will include an extra five standard packs. And those who choose to preorder the game through the Playstation Store will receive 5,000 stubs and the Aaron Judge rookie flashback card. Those who choose to preorder the game through Gamestop or Playstation Store will also get to play the game a few days early starting on March 23 via Sony’s First Pitch Weekend.
There will also be a few of premium versions of MLB The Show 17 which includes the All Rise Edition that is only exclusive to Gamestop and EB Games. This edition will cost fans $100 and will include a 9Fifty snap back hat, a steel book case for the game, PS4 themes for all 30 MLB teams as well as a bunch of more content. There is a Digital Deluxe Edition as well that goes for the same price as the All Rise Edition and includes almost everything that it does except for the hat, but it does come with 20 standard card packs instead of 10. The MLB The Show 18 MVP Edition will cost $70 and includes a steel book case and a number of digital extras such as 5,000 stubs, the MLB team themes, and more for fans to enjoy.
