Minecraft Will Host Biome Update Vote at Minecon Live

Minecon Live is fast approaching, taking place via worldwide stream on September 28 at 9 AM PT. The event launch video, which you can check out below, offered a hilariously clever way to hint at some of the content that will be covered during the event. Some of the “hidden” announcements included new co-hosts to join Mojang’s Brand Director Lydia Winters, and an enticing attention grabber simply referred to as: “Vote for Biome.” Earlier today, another video was published on the Minecraft Twitter page that revealed players will be able to vote on one of three biomes to receive exciting new updates during the event.

Presented by adorable Minecraft versions of Agnes and Jens, members of the Minecraft team, the announcement stated that the vote will be between three biomes: Mountains, Badlands, and Swamps. Based on the one that receives the most votes during Minecon Live, the updated “biome will have new mobs, features, and mechanics.” Since there’s still some time before the big vote on September 28, the Minecraft team will be releasing new videos showing off what each updated biome will have to offer. Be sure to keep an eye on both the game’s Twitter and YouTube pages for more information.

This year’s Minecon promises to be “bigger than ever,” which is completely expected as the game recently hit record milestone of 112 million monthly players. The hour and a half-long event will feature news and updates, community panels, and more.

Minecon Live will stream live (obviously) on September 28 starting at 9 AM PT. You can watch the stream via Facebook, Mixer, Twitch, YouTube, and the Minecraft website.
