MindsEye was released on Tuesday, and early on, the feedback by fans and critics are mixed. The game, developed by Build A Rocket Boy, and published by IQ Interactive Partners A/S, is available for gamers on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It is a third-person, action-adventure shooter, with lots of opportunities to mayhem on foot, and in vehicles. Regarding the backdrop of what the game is meant to be for the players, IQ Interactive Partners A/S said:

Unfortunately, despite the excitement the game appears to be meant to generate in those playing it, many have given negative reviews for the game early on. Some players have complained about the Unreal Engine 5, which is what Build A Rocket Boy used for the development of MindsEye, saying that it contributed to the gameplay being ‘’unplayable’’, and other saying that the game feels as if it was ‘’not tested’’ before its release. Other players complained about the in-game audio being poor, and the graphics, such as ‘’depth of field’’ being of poor quality. Some also complained about the lack of ability to do things, such as steal cars.
There were a few positive reviews though, and most were aimed at the quality of the story. In fact, even some of the negative reviews were more favorable to the story being told than one might imagine. In the positive reviews, complaints were still made about the gameplay, such as gun mechanics, but state it is still worth the purchase due to the storyline. Also, one of the positive aspects of the gameplay mentioned in some of the reviews is the car driving mechanics.
