Today Mighty Fight Federation was officially released on PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. The game is a 3D fighting game inspired by titles like Powerstone and was developed by partners Forthright Entertainment and Komi Games. Mighty Fight Federation had previously been available as an early access title on Steam but is now receiving an official release on PC and PlayStation.
Mighty Fight Federation is a 3D arena fighting game that builds upon the fundamentals of other fighting games with its special “Hype” mechanic. During the battle, players build up their Hype Energy which can be used to perform three different kinds of moves.
Breakers can be used to reverse an opponent’s combo, Hype Cancels can be used to cancel out of and create new combos, and Hype Mode temporarily increases both a player’s damage and speed as well causing the player to slowly regain health. Players are also able to make use of a special Hype Attack which is an extremely powerful attack that can only be used once per match.
Mighty Fight Federation currently has thirteen different fighters to choose from with more fighters planned to be released in the future. Playable characters include some original standouts such as the gym-bro hellhound Heckbane, and the musical skeleton Tunestone, as well as crossover characters like Toejam and Earl, and Yooka-Laylee. Players can play the game both locally or online with up to four players. There is also a single-player arcade mode with different character endings to see.
Mighty Fight Federation is now available for purchase for $29.99 USD on PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. A version for the Nintendo Switch is planned for a release in March.
