Creator and publisher Ubisoft has announced the launch today of their strategy online card game, Might & Magic® Duel of Champions: Forgotten Wars, which had been originally on both PC and iPad, but now has made its way to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Even though the console versions seem to have some similarities with the PC/iPad versions, they are different games, and will not offer existing progress to be transferred over being that they are standalone games. Players will have to choose a hero from six factions from the Might & Magic universe and will be going through battles both in the single-player campaign, and also against their friends locally or other opponents in the online multiplayer.
In the Might & Magic universe, players will take the story of the Forgotten Wars in the single-player campaign that includes more than 30 missions. Players as mentioned before, need to choose their hero from the six factions and will need to build an army of creatures to battle against fierce opponents while using spells, fortunes, putting up buildings and creating events that will cause combos, which will help defeat enemies on the battlefield. As for local multiplayer mode, friends will be able to duel through the same game system, while the online multiplayer, players will be facing against people in ranked matches in order to battle their way to the top of the leaderboard.
“With Might & Magic Duel of Champions: Forgotten Wars, we worked to create the best gaming experience for players familiar with the franchise and those new to Duel of Champions and collectible card games,” said Samuel Jobin, producer behind Might & Magic Duel of Champions: Forgotten Wars. “Forgotten Wars includes the cards and game mechanics players have come to know and love as well as unique gameplay elements only available for console players.”
Players will also see an additional four cards sets that have been made available to help reinforce ranks and build out their card decks, with this addition, it will give players more than 650 cards to collect.
