Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment revealed a brand new trailer for Monolith Productions’ new title Middle-Earth: Shadow of War during their panel at San Diego Comi-con. The new trailer focuses on Shelob, although she has been given a new appearance for the game. For most of the trailer we see Shelob in an unfamiliar form as a woman in a black dress. We only get a glimpse of her Spider form in the very beginning and end of the video.
However for the duration of the trailer, Shelob is seen speaking with Talion and giving him visions of the future. He then believes these visions are the only way for him to save the city of Minas Ithil. These visions also seem to sway Talion’s trust towards her and in turn cause distrust between him and Celebrimbor; the wraith and Talion’s partner. There is also a connection between Celebrimbor and Sauron that will play a big part in the game. We also got a quick look at Nazgul and Palantir during the trailer.
Shelob will be voiced by Pollyanna McIntosh, who was confirmed for the voice cast along with Kumail Nanjiani who also did voice work for Mass Effect: Andromeda. Middle-Earth: Shadow of War was initially set to launch in August but it is now slated for release on October 10 for Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC. It will support Playstation 4 Pro and Xbox One X running on native 4k for both consoles. Also players who have played Shadow of Mordor will also be able to import data from that game.
