After 20 years, Microsoft has announced the next evolution to Xbox Live Gold. Xbox Game Pass Core launches on September 14, bringing together online play with the Xbox Game Pass in a new way for players to enjoy. According to Jerret West, Corporate Vice-President (CVP) of Gaming Marketing at Xbox, this was an opportunity for Xbox to “…re-imagine how to include content with this subscription.”
Xbox Game Pass Core will launch with a collection of more than 25 titles from Xbox Game Studios, Bethesda, and other partners, for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One users. Those launch titles include:
- Among Us
- Descenders
- Dishonored 2
- Doom Eternal
- Fable Anniversary
- Fallout 4
- Fallout 76
- Forza Horizon 4
- Gears 5
- Grounded
- Halo 5: Guardians
- Halo Wars 2
- Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice
- Human Fall Flat
- Inside
- Ori & The Will of the Wisps
- Psychonauts 2
- State of Decay 2
- The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited
More titles will announced leading up to the September 14th launch. Additionally, new titles will be added to the catalog 2-3 times a year.
Current Xbox Live Gold members Will be automatically switched to Xbox Live Gold on September 14th with no change and have immediate access to it’s game library.
Games with Gold is set to end September 1st but member deals and other discounts will continue with Xbox Game Pass Core. Additionally, any Xbox One games previously redeemed through Games with Gold will remail if players remain a Game Pass Core or Game Pass Ultimate member, including Xbox 360 titles.
