Microsoft Offers Up Details on Xbox One’s Party Chats

The Xbox One and The PlayStation 4 will offer similar capabilities within the group chat field.

Microsoft announced today that the Xbox One is going to support up to 8 players within a group chat lobby. A representative announced that this would be the number available at launch and suggests that the abilities of group chat will expand in the future.

This news comes a few days after Sony announced that the PlayStation 4 would support the same number of players within a group chat. This goes to show how tight a race the next-generation contest seems to be. Both are presenting equal features, handing off the good for the bad and vice versa.

Microsoft also announced earlier in the year that players would be able to have 1,000 friends through Xbox Live, A huge leap from the 100-friend limit imposed upon the Xbox 360.

Microsoft seems to want to make the Xbox One a fully social machine, creating an environment that develops and embraces community action and shared experience.
