Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Release Posters Found in London Underground Despite the Game Not Even Having a Release Date

It’s always fun to have a little laugh at marketing errors, right? Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is one of the big games to look out for for the recently released Nintendo Switch 2, despite this, there hasn’t been a release date announced for the highly anticipated Samus adventure, which makes it all the more amusing that billboards are showing up in the London Underground declaring that Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is available now.

Now, obviously, as stated Metroid Prime 4 doesn’t have a release date so it’s not out yet. And, again, it’s one of the most highly anticipated titles for the platform so they’re not going to just throw it in the Nintendo Store with no fanfare. This is clearly an error by some billboard installer in the London Underground, good for a laugh though that poor guy (maybe I should say ‘chap’? It is London) is likely getting an earful from Global Entertainment, who have control over those billboards.

This does raise an interesting question, though. Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is due to launch sometime in 2025, but there’s no specific release date and today is the first day of summer, we’re about halfway through the year. It stands to reason that the game will release during a holiday season of some sort, most likely Christmas, but if that’s the case one has to wonder why they haven’t just announced a Christmas release date in that case. Likely this is due to some polishing the game needs that may take a bit more time than usual, so Nintendo is playing it on the safe side and not announcing anything in full just yet.

So yeah, that’s about it. An entertaining little error in the literal marketing train for Nintendo. Though this small shot in the arm might remind people that Metroid Prime 4 is coming out, or even inform them of its existence in the first place, so there’s some practical applications to even this little mistake!
