Similar to the story written by Franz Kafka, Metamorphosis follows the protagonist Gregor who awakes to see that he has turned into a tiny bug. All in Games! and the developers Ovid Works have announced that Metamorphosis is a hand-painted adventure game that is heavily inspired by the work of Franz Kafka. According to the official page, “you wake up one morning to find that you are rather inconveniently transforming into a tiny bug, while your friend Joseph is being arrested for reasons unknown. He can’t recognize you like this! To save him and to find the answers you seek, you must embark on a perilous journey through a twisted and unfamiliar world.”
Players will need to utilize their new abilities as an insect to help figure out why their friend has been arrested and to come to their aid. Using their tiny insect size, the protagonist will crawl through nooks and crannies in first-person in order to travel, and will need to utilize the insect’s sticky legs and movement ability to traverse the world.
A story inspired by Kafka’s imagination, in which you are rather inconveniently transforming into a bug…

During their exploration and adventure, players will encounter new things that exist in the world of humans, but they will also discover new things from the perspective of an insect. Crawling through cracks impossible to reach by humans, players will encounter civilizations of other insects, puzzles and obstacles to parkour over. Branching away from the literary work of Kafka, players will also encounter different insects and their homes, as they contribute to the game’s story and help the protagonist rescue his friend.
Metamorphosis is out now and available for download (for 10% off for its launch week) on the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PS4, and PC via Steam. More information about the game can be found on All in Games! official website and the Metamorphosis webpage. The community discord is also available here.
