Metal Gear Survive Gets a Six-Minute Single-Player Trailer

Earlier today, IGN published a brand new single-player trailer for the upcoming Metal Gear Survive, courtesy of Konami. The six-minute video shows off gameplay footage of combat, zombie slaying, crafting, rescues, and base defense.

Fans of the Metal Gear series have been largely doubtful about the quality of the upcoming title, particularly in the wake of Hideo Kojima’s departure from Konami. A beta for the game will be launching next week on January 18 and running until January 21 for consoles only, so players will be able to see for themselves whether Metal Gear Survive is on the right track despite recent shake-ups.

The beta will be focused on Metal Gear Survive‘s co-op gameplay, though the mechanics of both are pretty similar. At the very least, the beta will yield loot that carries over into the full game, including a FOXHOUND nameplate, an accessory Metal Gear REX head, and accessory bandana.

Metal Gear Survive arrives in the US on February 20, and February 22 in Europe. The game will be available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Glenn Carreau: Hi! I'm Glenn: recent college grad specializing in interactive arts and media, writer, game creator and connoisseur, pop culture junkie, and semi-professional fan-artist and blogger. In my free time, I function as an unnecessarily specific gaming encyclopedia. I also play the violin, binge crime/detective procedural shows (still not sure why), and do a large amount of digital painting. I'm probably too attached to Dragon Age, but not really inclined to do anything about it. I'm a huge fan of cosplay, foxes, the prose of Jenny Lawson, and Strong Female Characters™.
