Two years ago, PlayStation and Konami revealed the next big remake with Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. The remake features the same gripping story and engrossing world, now with all-new graphics and 3D audio. After several looks at the game at various events, no release date had been announced. However, it seems that the date has been leaked after a new trailer was posted on the PlayStation Store. At the end of it, it reveals a release date of August 28, 2025.
In addition to the upgrades to the graphics and 3D audio, there are a couple of other gameplay updates being added to this version of Metal Gear Solid 3. The biggest being a newly added, more modern control style that will let players focus entirely on the game and the immersive thrills of the survival stealth experience. The battle system has also been upgraded with the wear and tear of Snake’s clothes, as well as bruises and bullet wounds on his body, reflected in real time. Injuries that occured during the game will leave their mark on Snake’s body permanently, telling a story of each player’s unique journey through the game.
The new trailer also seemingly confirmed the return of the Snake vs. Monkey minigame where Naked Snake has to secure a troop of monkeys by stunning them with non-lethal weapons. Completing the minigame in the PS2 versions awarded players with a monkey mask and banana camouflage suit.
As of yet, nothing official has been announced yet. The fact that this was leaked on the PSN may have also confirmed the recent reports and rumors that PlayStation will be releasing a new State of Play this month. According to the reports, the State of Play should be coming sometime next week but nothing has been announced yet.
