Mass Effect: Andromeda Drops another Gameplay Video

With Mass Effect: Andromeda arriving in a little over a month, BioWare released yet another video. This one stands out from the rest due to the fact that its not just a usual gameplay or cinematic trailer. In this video, there is commentary along with weapons gameplay and types as well as showing off some of the skills available to the player.

Here’s the description for the youtube video seen below:

Welcome to the Mass Effect: Andromeda gameplay series. In this video, learn all about combat. Battle with weaponry from an alien galaxy, outmaneuver enemies with your jump-jet, and unlock the power of Biotics. In Mass Effect: Andromeda, you are on a mission to find a new home for humanity. How far will you go?

One of the more interesting things in the video was the discussion of the types of weapons that can be used throughout the game. For starters, as with the other games in the Mass Effect Universe, players will have access to four different types of weapons, however, the game will now also come with melee weapons. Players will have the usual pistol, sniper, rife, and shotguns. Among these classes there will be separate archetypes for weapons. For instance, the rifles in the game will now have different features and characteristics to go with the region of where they come from. Take a look at the video below to see for yourself.

After showing off some of the weapons available, the commentary and video reveal some of the Biotic and Tech skills usable by players. For those choosing to invest in certain Tech skills, players will be able to have a flamethrower at the end of their fingertips. Like previous installments of the game, players will have full choice as to what they would like their characters to be able to do. With limited skill points, players will have to be strategic with what they choose to upgrade.

Both Weapons and skills will not be class specific, meaning players will have full control of their loadouts and abilities. Both Tech and Biotic skills will as always have more effectiveness against certain enemy types. To get around this, players will have access to grenades and mines, as well as a new drone to help take on multiple enemies.

According to the name of the video and the final comments, BioWare plans to release more videos in what they are calling the “Gameplay Series” in which they will continue to release videos showing more and more of the game until its March 21st release date.
