Marvel’s new and upcoming 4v4 fighting game, MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls is set to release early next month, but has chosen to announce several playable characters prior to the game’s release. Most recently, the production team has put together a short character guide for Ms. Marvel, the superhero alias of 16 year old Kamala Khan. This character lacks air dash, but she “excels at controlling the mid-range.” This character guide video, designed to teach players “how to leverage her strengths, master her unique movement options, and navigate every stage effectively” was published on the official PlayStation YouTube channel, and can be viewed below.
The guide, lasting just over four minutes, begins with a notebook style drawing and animation of the teenage hero as she excitedly shows off her ability to enlarge her fists. Her official description reads as follows: “Kamala was a normal high school student –albeit an extreme super hero fangirl– until she gained the incredible power to “Embiggen” her physical form. Wanting to use her new powers to help others, she adopted the former title of one of her favorite heroes: Ms. Marvel.” After demonstrating a few more action moves, the video shares the four color options that players have to choose from. These consist of what appear to be primarily red, primarily green, primarily purple, and primarily black. As noted in a small pop up, these colors will be free for players to choose from at the beginning of the game, no achievement or level required. The character guide proceeds to show gameplay clips from Ms. Marvel’s signature moves, displaying the correct combination directly below.
Other heroes on the announcement roster for Sony Online Entertainment and Arc System Work’s 4v4 game include Spider-Man, Star-Lord, Captain America, and Dr. Doom. MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls is currently priced for preorder on PC and PlayStation 5 at $59.99 USD, requiring PlayStation Plus for multiplayer mode, which is not necessary for gameplay. The game will be released on August 6, 2026, with more information coming as the release date continues to approach.
