On January 21, Marvel Entertainment and NetEase Games, creators of Marvel Rivals, released their newest Chinese New Year event for the game: The Spring Festival on YouTube and on X. There will be lot of new additions to the game such as a limited time game mode, a gallery card customization event, and unique rewards to claim such as a free Star-Lord costume skin, nameplate, and much more, all according to the YouTube trailer description as well as X. The Spring Festival event will begin on January 23rd, and will end on February 14th according to RadioTimes.
The trailer first shows some illustrations of some new skins for Iron Fist, called Lion’s Gaze, and Black Widow, called Lion’s Heartbeat, which will be available in the game store. As for the Star-Lord skin, players will need to complete challenges relating to the event to unlock his newest skin, according to Shacknews.
The trailer also teases a glimpse at the gameplay of their new limited game mode called Clash of Dancing Lions. Players will be able to play as either Iron Fist, Black Widow, or Star-Lord in this event and it is set in Wakanda’s World Arena, with its new Chinese New Year themed upgrades. There will be two teams of three will battle against each other in a game of soccer, and whichever teams gets the most points wins.
According to RadioTimes, players will need to complete events in order to obtain Danqing, which is a magical dye. The Danqing will fill up an illustration. Once it is completed, players will be able to unlock the Of Festivals and Friends Gallery Card. Other rewards that players can get through the event will be nameplates and more to come.
Once the new event begins, the rest of the additions that were not teased in the trailer will also come to light.
