Their latest announcement offers a very different update to the game, this time changing the number of players it is possible to contain in a match. Annihilation mode will allow players to create massive 18-player teams to face off against equally large opposing teams.

Grand Garden promises to be the largest map so far with elegant scenery and massive chess pieces decorating the battleground. The epic scale of the Grand Garden was all to prepare players for its inclusion into the new game mode as the first map.

Today, the trailer for the new game mode dropped, giving players a glimpse at what they can expect from the massive battles after the update. The trailer begins with two groups of characters approaching each other, getting ready for the battle. The trailer then dives straight into gameplay in Annihilation mode, with characters like Black Panther darting between opponents and Scarlet Witch eliminating a small army with her attack. The trailer also teases the ability for multiple versions of the same character to appear in the mode at once.

The standard game mode for Marvel Rivals has proven itself incredibly popular, giving players hope for the new way to play. Fans will have a chance to experience it themselves on November 27th when it releases along with the new map.
