Marvel Reveals Plans for an Open World Mobile RPG

Marvel and Netmarble have announced their plans for an open-world Marvel RPG mobile game under the title Marvel: Future Revolution . Announced at PAX East during the “Marvel Mystery Panel”, the game comes from the company that brought us Marvel: Future Fight Players will reportedly play as part of the “Omega Flight” Superteam and work together to defeat the influx of Super-Villains, all while having to take on their own suspicions and save the universe.  The story for Marvel: Future Revolution  will be taken care of by Marvel writer Marc Sumerak, who also worked on the Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 game. In an update clarified by IGN, Netmarble clarified that Marvel: Future Revolution will not have the same game mechanics as Marvel: Future Fight. 

So far, confirmed characters for the game consist of Captain America, Captain Marvel, Spider-Man, and Doctor Strange. Such locations such as Xanderth and Sakaar have also been confirmed as locations for the superheroes to battle evil.  The game will also have new and existing costumes for their superheroes, with promised chance of personally customizing each costume as well. The only confirmed villains for the game so far are Red Skull, Baron Mordo, Yellowjacket,  M.O.D.O.K, Green Goblin, and Red Goblin.

As seen in the trailer, Captain America narrates during a very apocalyptic scene that “its a revolution”. Other hints about the game tell that there is a number of Earths converging across all dimensions to form a new “Primary Earth”. As an agent of the newly formed team, the player will work together with other popular Marvel favorites as they battle to defend the universe yet again.
