The game’s first wave of DLC remastered tracks will be coming to the game on March 18. These new tracks are available to download prior to the release date so that players will not have to wait to race on the tracks. By downloading the tracks early, players will be able to instantly play the tracks rather than waiting for the finished download on the 18th.
In order to be eligible for early installation, players must be members of the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. This pack is available for a fee of $50 each year with the option for an $80 family pack. The membership gives players access to classic N64 games along with other perks as well. These additional perks often come in the form of DLC items, such as the Booster Course Pass for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
Players who are not Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members will have the ability to purchase the DLC pack of tracks for $25 in the game’s shop. The Booster Course Pass gives players 48 remastered tracks from previous games. These tracks will be released in six waves of eight tracks by the end of 2023.
Once downloaded, the players will be able to host races with other players who have not downloaded the tracks. In the party, only one person will be required to have the DLC downloaded.
As fans look forward to the coming tracks in March, it is even more exciting that there will be 40 more releases within the next 18 months. As fans look forward to the future of the Mario franchise, they will also be able to look back and enjoy the current games.
