March 10 is approaching fast which means that we are close to celebrating MAR10 Day, a celebration of all things Mario. Today, Nintendo has revealed its plans to commemorate the day this year – from competing for rewards, deals on select Mario titles, special in-person events, and more.
For MAR10 Day, Nintendo is offering twice the fun with the Nintendo Switch Online 14-day free trial membership. This limited-time offering for the free trial is available now through March 17. Friends and family can play classic games like Super Mario Bros. on NES and Super Mario World on Super NES with Nintendo Switch Online. The free trial is also available for Switch owners who have previously claimed a Nintendo Switch Online free trial.
Speaking of Super Mario World, players with any paid Nintendo Switch Online membership can receive 50 My Nintendo Platinum Points to redeem classic Mario icon elements when they play Super Mario World on Super Nintendo Entertainment System – Nintendo Switch Online. This offer will end on April 1 at 6 pm PT.
Select Mario titles such as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Mario Party Superstars, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, and more will be available for a suggested retail price of $39.99. This offering runs from March 7 through March 17. Mario fans can celebrate with each other in a variety of ways. Fans in New York can go to the Nintendo New York store for a meet-and-greet with Mario and Luigi with the opportunity to challenge ambassadors on Nintendo Switch, free MAR10 giveaways (while supplies last) and a screening of The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Participating GameStop locations on March 16 will have in-store demos featuring Mario and friends for anyone who wants to play together. Free Mario-themed items will be available, while supplies last.
On March 10, players can join an online Mario Kart 8 Deluxe tournament from noon to 6 pm PT, with the top 310 players receiving 1K My Nintendo Gold Points each. To enter, you must participate in the Tournament in the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe game during the Tournament Period.
