Man Mistakes Pokémon GO Players For Thieves and Shoots At Them

According to the Orlando Sentinel, a man living in Florida fired gun shots at two teenagers playing the popular game Pokémon GO. The man mistook these two for thieves trying to break into his house.

The man was woken in his home around 1:30 AM by a loud noise. He proceeded to look outside and grabbed his hand gun to go investigate. The man heard one of the teens say,

Did you get anything?

The man rushed outside thinking they just robbed him. He then stepped outside of his house, raised his weapon, and told the two not to move. After the teens began to drive away out of fear, he moved out of the way and fired shots at the car, as he feared they were trying to run him down.

The two teens were not injured, however, one of the bullets pierced the car’s tire and fender. The investigation if still ongoing. Yet again, it seems Pokémon GO is causing another public disturbance, as earlier this week, two people walked off an oceanside cliff while playing the game.

There has been a public outcry as of late for players to keep an eye out for dangers as well as their surroundings. More and more people want regulation of players as they seem to be going places they shouldn’t at later hours. As the game continues to gain traction it will be interesting to see how the public handles it.

Let’s hope those two teens caught a Dragonite, eh?
