At New York Comic Con 2026, Wizards of the Coast revealed several new Marvel collaborations, one of which is Darkhold Destiny. In collaboration with Marvel, Darkhold Destiny is the first Universes Beyond set created around an original story and setting.

Wizards of the Coast says that Marvel: Darkhold Destiny is a new kind of Universes Beyond set. The team took the core elements players love about Magic: The Gathering and thoughtfully and strategically expressed the design intentions through the Marvel Universe.

The story will unfold and span across nearly 3o dimensions and will be centered around four main characters – Doctor Strange, Thor, Hela, and Dormammu. The story will also include the origin of a brand-new character through a new Marvel Comics release written by Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly. The comic will release digitally in February 2027, with a physical release coming a few months after in April.

In addition to the four main characters, the set will take players to previously uncharted realms within the Marvel Universe, filled with their favorite unworldly characters – including Magik. Wizards of the Coast promises that some of the most hotly anticipated Super Heroes and Super Villians will make their debut in Magic.
