Magic: The Gathering Aetherdrift Set Announced

It was just announced and released from the Wizards of the Coast (WotC), the developers of of Magic: The Gathering that they will be releasing a new set called Aetherdrift. According to the trailer’s description, this set is “built around an interplanar race across the multiverse.” 

The trailer starts off as a thrilling race with the one-eyed announcer showing off and teasing the ten teams, three worlds, and “burn rubber for racing fame!” The legendary prize at the end of the trailer is revealed to be the anther’s book. The trailer shows off thrilling animations of the characters, such as Chandra and her romantic partner Nissa, racing among each other and teases the three worlds that have their own unique styles.

According to the official website of Magic: The Gathering, they describe the game: “Magic is a collectible trading card game of fun-filled, strategic games to play with friends old and new. Welcoming worldbuilders, narrative lovers, and gameplay enthusiasts alike, Magic has something for everyone and countless ways to play. Whether you’re sitting at the kitchen table, playing online, or battling in a high-stakes competition, there’s a place for you in the world of Magic: The Gathering.”

When looking at the Magic: The Gathering official website, in the article archives section there is a story based on Aetherdrift listed. Along with the story, players can also get a sneak peak to the cards in the card image gallery. The cards consist of land cards such as the swamp, the plains, and the mountain. There is a legendary creature in this set called Daretti, Rocketeer Engineer.

The Aetherdrift set will be released in game and also as a card set on February 14th, and prerelease events will begin on February 7th. Magic: The Gathering is available on PC and Mac through Steam. Players can download the mobile game Magic: The Gathering Arena on Android, and iOS devices.
