A new entry into the Mafia video game series was recently announced at Gamescom 2024. Developed by 2K and Hangar 13, Mafia: The Old Country is the latest title within the Mafia franchise that will thrust players into the brutal underworld of 1900s Sicily. There, players learn to survive in this unforgiving era and engage in brutal fights highlighted by authentic realism and storytelling that emulates a classic mob movie story.

Hangar 13 President Nick Baynes gave a brief statement on what players can expect from the newest Mafia game.
“Across the first three entries in the Mafia franchise, we introduced players to the world of the Mafia through brutal stories set in different eras,” said Baynes. “In Mafia: The Old Country, we’re going back to the roots of what fans love about the franchise, crafting a deep, linear narrative with that classic mob movie feeling, visiting a stunning new setting, and delivering it all in a tight, focused package perfect for fans of immersive experiences.”
In an effort to give players a more immersive experience, players can experience Mafia: The Old Country with Sicilian voice acting, perfect for the game’s setting.
Mafia: The Old Country is set to release in 2025 for the PlayStation®5 (PS5®), Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. More information on the game’s story will be revealed this coming December. Until then, those that are interested should head over to the game’s official website and social media.
