Madoka Magica Magia Exedra is a new game based on the anime Puella Magi Madoka Magica (2011). Pre-registrations are open on Google Play and Steam.
Pitched as an action battle RPG, the game contains a new story and setting that synthesizes characters across the Madoka universe from the base characters in Puella Magi Madoka Magica to the spinoffs such as Magia Record, another game within the Madoka IP released for mobile around 2019. Labeled with a release date of 2024, Magia Exedra is available on Steam. The game seems to emulate a F2P model, where the base game is free but includes in game transactions. At this moment in time, the game seems to have a simul-release for both English and Japanese languages, but there is only full audio for the Japanese version.
The game, which synthesizes turn-based combat and exploration, is tagged as single player on Steam. It is, however, also tagged with online PvP, online co-op, and supports cross-platform multiplayer.
Magia Exedra is published by Aniplex Inc., who is also responsible for the distribution of the anime. The developers are credited as Pokelabo, Inc. and f4samurai, Inc. Pokelabo has developed other games such as SINoALICE (2017) – a mobile game co-developed/published with Square Enix and directed by Nier creator Yoko Taro – as well as Assault Lily Last Bullet (2021), a battle RPG based on the Assault Lily anime. f4samurai developed Magia Record, Hortensia Saga R, and Disney’s Twisted Wonderland (in collaboration with Yana Toboso).
On the Steam page, the minimum system requirements needed to run the game include a 64-bit processor/OS (Windows), 8 GB memory, an Intel Core i3 (4th gen) or equivalent processor, and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX970 or equivalent graphics card.
