Madden 23 has continued to provide more information about the gameplay by providing trailers and gameplay clips for their fans. As they often do each year, Madden has included even more freedom for players to control their teams. The newest FieldSENSE System in Madden NFL 23 gives players more freedom than ever before. The new gameplay style allows players different animations on both offense and defense to give more control to the players. Offensively, players can control their ball carriers with more freedom to create more space and juke the defense.

Players are also able to control their quarterbacks and prevent the other team from being able to reach the ball. Previous Madden games did not allow players to control exactly where the ball went for the receivers to catch, but instead let players control the general area without the focus on avoiding defenders.
