With the yearly release of this year’s Madden inching closer and closer to the endzone, it’s starting to become that time where EA reveals the ratings for many star players. As of today, we know the ratings of some rookies, wide receivers, and even the first player of the year to be revealed as part of the “Madden 99 Club“.
The first player to be revealed as part of the 99 Club (players who are awarded a 99 overall rating) is Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams. Adams is coming off a career year with 115 receptions for 1374 yards and an NFL-high 18 touchdowns and is often regarded as one of the best players at his position in the NFL. These stats were enough to earn him a near-unanimous first-team All-Pro selection, receiving 49 out of a possible 50 votes. Along with this news, a brief clip with gameplay of Adams in Madden 22 showcased the skills he will bring to the table for players who have him on their team.
This is not Adams’ first time being in the 99 Club. After being a 94 overall in Madden 21, Adams had his ratings increased week after week until finally reaching 99 overall in December. He’s joined at the top of this year’s list by Arizona Cardinals WR DeAndre Hopkins at 98 overall, Kansas City Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill at 98 overall, Buffalo Bills WR Stefon Diggs at 97 overall, and Tennessee Titans WR Julio Jones at 95 overall.
As a Cowboys fan, it was very nice to see WR Amari Cooper make the list at a 92 overall! Along with the wide receivers, Madden also revealed the highest-rated rookies as well, with Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts being at the top of that list with an 81 overall. The rest of the ratings will be revealed as the month goes on, and we can assume that some of the next players to join the 99 Club will be both Los Angeles Rams DT Aaron Donald and Kansas City Chiefs QB and Madden 22 cover athlete Patrick Mahomes. As usual, seeing which players should make the top of these lists is always a hot topic of debate, and this year will definitely be no different.
