Lords of the Fallen Surpasses 2.5 Million Copies Sold Worldwide

In an official press release on March 20, 2026, CI Games announced that its dark fantasy action RPG, Lords of the Fallen, which was released back in 2023, has sold over 2.5 million copies worldwide. The game officially broke even at the end of February on a total budget of $80.45 million, including development and marketing. This achievement has ensured financial stability and helped build momentum for the franchise as they continue to develop Lords of the Fallen 2, slated for release later in 2026.

In the press release, the CEO and Co-Founder of CI Games, Marek Tyminski, made a statement alongside the announcement. He states that “Reaching break-even is a significant milestone, ensuring financial stability alongside the recent capital raise, but we know there’s more to achieve. The lessons learned and community feedback gathered over the past 2.5 years have been invaluable, and they continue to guide the development of Lords of the Fallen II. He also goes on to say that “Reaching break-even is a significant achievement for an ambitious project like Lords of the Fallen, especially in a challenging market. It validates the passion and hard work of our team, as well as the unwavering support from our community. While this brings financial stability and sets a strong foundation, we view it as an important step—not the finish line. Full success for the Lords of the Fallen universe lies ahead, with more to deliver to fans old and new.”

The announcement of the game-breaking even follows news that the CI Games secured $19 million in additional funding for the distribution of Lords of the Fallen 2. Lords of the Fallen had a bit of a rocky launch, but with more than 70-post launch updates and releasing a 2.5 update back in December 2025, the game has made its money back and cemented itself as a future gaming franchise, and hopes for fans to continue to support it as the highly anticipated sequel, Lords of the Fallen 2 which was revealed back in 2025 at Gamescom, launches later this year in 2026 revealed gameplay back in 2025 at The Game Awards.
