Long Rumored Horizon MMORPG Might Be Officially Happening

The Horizon series, while new, has been a major seller for Sony and the PlayStation with both titles in the series selling over a combined 40 million units. Now that may be due to sales, PlayStation Plus deals, and system bundles but it is still an achievement nonetheless. With the recent release of a DLC titled The Burning Shores for Horizon Forbidden West and a PSVR release titled Horizon: Call Of The Mountain, Sony seems to be all in on the franchise. Another project that has been long rumored and awaited with no concrete announcements is a full-scaled MMORPG set in the Horizon universe. The confirmation of these rumors is coming from job listings on LinkedIn. The game is surprisingly not slated to release on PlayStation consoles until much later after its initial release on PC and mobile out of all platforms.

This project has been in the works for quite some time dating initially back to 2021 which is when a lot of the rumors began circulating, alongside last year. In order to maintain some secrecy the project’s title has been hidden and altered on sites such as LinkedIn, with the project being titled now as Project Skyline, but previously titled Project H. What is even more interesting is that people might have found the official title that has not yet been announced as NCsoft registered a domain for a “Land Of Salvation” which could very well be the title of a Horizon game. Guerilla games has been hard at work trying to keep things secret but as this new information comes pouring in, it doesn’t seem so secret anymore.

PlayStation has been very careful with their IPs and this is no exception, the MMORPG is rumored to have had over 140 people working on it and the number continues growing. There is no set release date obviously due to the game not even being announced yet, but that announcement may come sometime soon as people are becoming more and more curious towards this project.
