Little Big Planet 3 fans were delivered some unfortunate news by Sony on Friday. According to the announcement, the servers for Little Big Planet 3 will be “taken down indefinitely.” This comes after servers for the game have been down since January, due to technical issues.
“Due to ongoing technical issues which resulted in Little Big Planet 3 servers for PS4 being taken offline temporarily in January 2024, the decision has been made to keep the servers offline indefinitely…” wrote the official Sack Boy X/Twitter account.

Developed by Sumo Digital Ltd, Little Big Planet 3 launched in 2014 and became another beloved title in the franchise. In particular, fans praised the game for its feature that let players create and share their own unique levels with each other.
The servers for Little Big Planet 3 had their first major issue in 2021, when it went under due to a DDOS attack. This lead to its PlayStation 3 and PS Vita servers shutting down while the servers for the PlayStation 4 continued on.
Now that the servers for the PlayStation 4 servers have shut down, players won’t be unable to access the game’s online services, including sharing any user generated content. However, player content can still be stored locally on the platform the game is played on. Additionally, players can still use Little Big Planet 3’s Offline features, which includes its campaign.
Regardless, the loss of these servers have left a bad taste in fans mouths, with the years of player creative content effectively lost for good.
