Line of Defense Released on Steam

An Early Access version of the sci-fi MMO, Line of Defense, is now available on Steam, for PC. The game’s developer and publisher, 3000 A.D., marked down all three tiers of access to the game, emissary, ambassador and commander, for %50, currently.

Line of Defense has a persistent open world, with bases that reach more than 16-square-kilometers in area, that harbors FPS gameplay. The game’s world has unique climate zones, weather patterns and feature the time of day. Regions in space compliment the land-based arenas. Players have access to space stations and a space carrier. They can fight and explore while moving between planetary bases.

The current Early Access version features the Heatwave base, the GCV Starguard carrier and the planet Lyrius. New levels, areas and vehicles will unlock as the full version is closer to its release.

3000 A.D. said in a press release that they are looking for helpful community feedback. They would like to address any issues, concerns or suggestions the players may have.

Line of Defense features player-vs.-player combat on foot and in land and air vehicles. The game does not feature pre-determined classes. Instead, character progression and abilities are earned, and players can mold their own class along the way.

Players can create “fireteams,” which are guilds formed by human or AI-controlled characters. They can range from few to many troops with varying degrees of skills. Players can also build Forward Operating Bases for their fireteams, or just themselves.

Weapons can be customized (such as an infrared night-vision scope) and vehicles can be bought and owned. Both free-to-play and premium versions of the game will integrate in-game currency. Game expansions will be made to increase the scope of the game’s world.
