While the majority of the major video game events have come and gone, there are still a few studios and companies who are waiting a bit longer to hold their own. One of these is Limited Run Games, the company most well-known for producing physical copies of retro titles, special editions, and re-releases with some really cool features. The company has announced the return of their annual Limited Run Games Showcase, in which they will unveil “20+ new digital and physical announcements.”
The event will take place on Limited Run Game’s official YouTube and Twitch channels next month on Wednesday, July 12. It will be livestreamed at 1:00 PM PST/4:00 PM EST and judging from the mammoth number of reveals that have on hand, it’ll probably go for while. This will also more than likely take a major emphasis with Nintendo Switch titles, as a lot of digital-only selections are taken up by the company as projects and released as physical editions on their site.
As the name suggests, Limited Run Games released physical games for, well, a limited time frame before they’re removed from the site seemingly forever. The company started operations back in 2015, first being run by a parent company, Mighty Rabbit Studios, before going independent for around five years. In 2022, they were acquired by the video game giant Embracer Group as part of the latter’s insane spending spree on studios at the time.
The Limited Run Games Showcase 2023 will take place on July 12 at 1:00 PM PST/4:00 PM EST on their official YouTube and Twitch channel.
