New Game+, usually a basic feature in RPGs, will seemingly not be included in the base game of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. Originally reported by PC Gamer, the descriptions for deluxe versions of the game on the official website have a notable inclusion.

Of the four ways to purchase the game, only the digital Deluxe and Ultimate Editions include the Master Vacation bundle. The description for the bundle says that it includes a bonus dungeon, a special sujimon, resort guests, outfits, and more. Last on the list is New Game+, suggesting that the feature is not included in the base game.

New Game+ features allow for a game to be replayed while retaining some progress from the first playthrough for a faster experience. In some cases, extra content is locked behind the mode, so a second playthrough is required for full completion. Even past games in the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series have had new content in the mode, such as a higher difficulty level or new shop items. That makes the exclusion here especially confusing.

The base game is priced at $69.99, with the cheapest upgrade of the Digital Deluxe Edition at $84.99. That’s at least an extra $15 for access to New Game+, with an addition $40 for the $109.99 Ultimate Edition. For a feature that has traditionally been included with the standard edition of a game, that’s a significant leap in price.

These details are also absent from the game’s Steam page, which says that the upgraded versions include the Master Vacation bundle but fail to specify beyond that. As a result, unsuspecting players may buy the base version without realizing it lacks what is normally a standard feature.

The exclusion had been previously spotted by Reddit user Megasomark last month, who reached out to Sega for confirmation. The representative confirmed that New Game+ feature is only available with the additional purchase of the Master Vacation pack.

Sega has yet to comment on the exclusion.
