Like a Dragon Direct Announced for September 19, First Stream Dedicated to Western Audiences

It looks like we’re in for some more information regarding both Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name and Like a Dragon: Infinite WealthSega and Studio RGG have announced a special Like a Dragon Direct stream event, which is slated for next week on September 19. The reason for the livestream is that it is specifically geared towards the western audience, which will also serve as a counterpart to the RGG Summit,, the usual stream for the Japanese audience.

The direct will be streamed on Sega’s official YouTube and Twitch channels and is set to go live on September 19 at 9:00 PM PST/12:00 AM EST. The description for the Direct states that we can expect “latest news, trailers, and more,” for both of the aforementioned titles. Like Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name has been well documented since it was initially announced last year, acting as a sequel/side story to former main protagonist Kazuma Kiryu. The title is currently slated to launch later this year on November 9, 2023, for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/Series S, and PC.

As for the other title, very little is known about Like Dragon: Infinite Wealthother than the fact that it’s the next mainline entry in the Yakuza series and that the previous protagonist, Ichiban Kasuga, returns as well. The only release time frame that we have is that it could potentially launch sometime in early 2024. That could change during this Direct, giving us a much more concrete date, as well as some of the specifics with the story and gameplay. Either way, we’re excited to see more about both titles and can’t wait until next week.
