Square Enix and developer DONTNOD Entertainment have released the launch trailer for the second episode of Life Is Strange 2. The second episode will pick up a few months after the events of the first episode, as Sean and Daniel are reeling from the tragic incident in Seattle and “the manifestation of a strange, supernatural power.” Things will get more difficult for the brothers as the seasons have changed and winter has come into the fold.
The second episode titled “Rules” will revolve around Daniel coming to grips with his newfound powers. Daniel has to learn to control his powers and both brothers agree to a set of rules. They will never talk about it, Daniel will never use them in public, and when danger happens, they run.
Before Life Is Strange 2 started, DONTNOD released a smaller story set in the Life Is Strange universe. They released The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit, which revolved around a young boy and his father. During Microsoft’s press conference, this standalone story was revealed and released later that month for free. The ending of The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit also teased what may occur in Life is Strange 2. In Episode 2, Captain Spirit returns and choices that were made during the spinoff game will be taken into account for “Rules“. Square and DONTNOD recommend that players finish the spin-off before starting this new episode. The Awesome Adventures Of Captain Spirit is free and available for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC/Steam.
If you have not looked into Life Is Strange 2 yet, you could try it out now on Xbox as Episode 1 was put in the Xbox Game Pass recently. In fact, you can play the entire series up to the first episode of Life Is Strange 2 as all the games are now a part of the Xbox Game Pass. You can see how the game keeps the themes of the series and utilizes some real-world events as a tool for its new story and characters.
