It’s been a while since we last heard anything in regards to Neowiz’s Lies of P. That all changed during Opening Night Live in which the publisher unveiled a bevy of gameplay trailer that left the audience stunned in awe. In addition, the game now has a launch time frame of 2023 and will be available for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/Series S, and PC. On top of that, Lies of P will also be available as a Day 1 Game Pass title, making it readily accessible for those who are subscribed to Microsoft’s online subscription service.

The gameplay, which can only be described as “Pinocchio meets Bloodborne”, is filled with nearly every dark fantasy facet you can think of. The game, which is in fact based off of the children’s book The Adventures of Pinnochio, which in turn was adapted into the extremely popular Disney animated film from 1940, takes the story and spins it into one with twisted horror. This is only emphasized by the gameplay, which as we stated bears a strong resemblance to From Software’s Bloodborne.
Pinnochio, who takes on the appearance of a young man, has interchangeable parts, which is first observed by his mechanical left arm. This includes putting on a flamethrower, an electric weapon, and even a grappling hook. You can also apparently fight with just the bare mechanical arm as is, although we’d imagine that would only make the game much harder. As Pinnochio, the player will fight their way through the city of Krat, which was at one point a beautiful cityscape that has now turned into a literal living hell with unimaginable horrors.
Lies of P Launches will officially launch sometime in 2023 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/Series S, and PC. The game will also be a Day 1 title for the Game Pass.
