If you’re a fan of LEGO and Fortnite fan then you are in luck. LEGO has gone to Twitter to tease a possible collaboration with Fortnite. Early this month it had been leaked by Fortnite leakers that a collab between LEGO and Fortnite was possibly in the works but nothing was confirmed at that point. However, all that changed yesterday. To tease the potential collab between Fortnite and LEGO, LEGO tweeted a picture of the Loot llama from Fortnite.
According to HYPEX, who keeps fans up to date on Fortnite on X(formally known as Twitter), the unconfirmed release date of this game is December 7th of this year. HYPEX also noted that supposedly players will not only be able to play as a Lego character but they can also mine materials and craft objects. There will also be items such as a LEGO stun gun, Workbenches, Catapults, Map Markers, Ziplines, Trinkets, Beds, and Fences.
This Collaboration may not be a surprise to most because Epic Games who is the Developer of Fortnite announced along with The LEGO Group on the Epic Games website in April of last year that they were entering into a partnership together. This is a little of what Tim Sweeney, CEO and Founder of Epic Games had to say at the time:
The LEGO Group has captivated the imagination of children and adults through creative play for nearly a century, and we are excited to come together to build a space in the metaverse that’s fun, entertaining, and made for kids and families. As the metaverse evolves, it is reshaping how people meet, play, work, learn, and interact in a virtual, 3D world. The LEGO Group and Epic Games will combine their extensive experience to ensure that this next iteration of the internet is designed from the outset with the wellbeing of kids in mind.”
For the announcement, Niels B Christiansen CEO of The LEGO Group also made a statement and this is what he said:
“Kids enjoy playing in digital and physical worlds and move seamlessly between the two. We believe there is huge potential for them to develop life-long skills such as creativity, collaboration and communication through digital experiences. But we have a responsibility to make them safe, inspiring and beneficial for all. Just as we’ve protected children’s rights to safe physical play for generations, we are committed to doing the same for digital play. We look forward to working with Epic Games to shape this exciting and playful future.”
This isn’t the first time that LEGO has collaborated with other games. It was just announced back in October that LEGO was collaborating with Animal Crossing. In the past LEGO has had collaborations with games like Super Mario, Sonic The Hedgehog, Lord Of The Rings™ and so much more. It seems like this year alone, with the Animal Crossing Collab and the Fortnite Collab, LEGO has definitely been busy.
It seems like Fortnite has also been having a busy year too. A new Rhythm and Racing mode has been added to this upcoming season for Fortnite. According to Fortnite leakers like IFireMonkey, The Racing mode will be seen in Chapter 5, season 1. It will allegedly include a “unique battle pass, trials, tutorials, with several modes like “Death Race, Easy Rider, Casual, and Competitive. The Racing mode is also going to possibly have “12 casual mode maps,4 Ranked mode maps, and one map named “Whiplash Circuit” “.
The Rhythm mode that is allegedly being brought to Fortnite is supposedly going have to several artists like Lady Gaga, Linkin Park, Toto, Imagine Dragons, and Alice Cooper according to HYPEX. The Rhythm Mode is going to be named “Festival” and will include Casual, and competitive and will allegedly arrive on December 9th.
