LEGO Reveals Legend of Zelda Deku Tree Set

The LEGO Company has just revealed their first-ever crossover set with Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda, with pre-orders for the set available right now. The Great Deku Tree 2-in-1 set features the iconic Deku Tree location from throughout the Zelda series, but with a special twist: builders can choose to construct a replica of the Deku Tree seen in Ocarina of Time, or the one seen in Breath of The Wild. Both variants come with tons of fun easter eggs and unique builds, as well as installment-specific minifigures. The set is due to ship on September 1, with a price tag of $299.99 USD.

The Breath of the Wild set features both Link and Zelda in minifigure form, sporting the Master Sword, Hyrule Shield, Sheikah Slate, and their original costumes from the game. The set includes the game’s unique interior of the Deku Tree, a safe haven which comes equipped with a bed, cooking station, and plenty of mushrooms. Also to be found in the BOTW Deku Tree variant are a number of hidden Koroks, as well as the not-so-hidden Hestu the Korok complete with maracas. Of course, this variant of the set would be incomplete without the Breath of the Wild version of the Great Deku Tree, which appears in its revitalized and blossoming form with pink-flowered branches and sits directly in front of the Master Sword shrine. There is also a hidden lever that builders can move to animate the Deku Tree’s face.

Meanwhile, the Ocarina of Time set includes minifigures of both young and adult Link in his classic outfits, as well as the titular ocarina from the game. This set reflects the location’s more adventurous and dangerous side from the N64 installment, with buildable enemies like Deku Babas for Link to battle and a hidden trap door revealing a Skulltula. The OoT variant features the more wide and green model of the Great Deku Tree from the game, with a distinct face structure and green shrubbery on the outside and a buildable Deku Sprout. The Ocarina of Time variant also includes a second complete structure: a replica of Link’s House complete with a sign and, of course, his companion fairy Navi.

The Legend of Zelda Great Deku Tree 2-in-1 set is available for pre-order now on the LEGO Store website.
