LEGO and Fortnite fans got a neat on Wednesday with the release of LEGO Fortnite’s first cinematic trailer.
This trailer gives fans a glimpse of what to expect in the game, showing fan favorite Fortnite characters sucked into a vibrant LEGO world. While no gameplay footage has been shown, the trailer showcase characters exploring the land, crafting, and battling monsters, similar to Minecraft.
Initially teased in late November, the LEGO themed game-mode aims to be the “ultimate survival crafting LEGO adventure.” In an press release last week, Epic Games hoped that this game would “encourage creativity, experimentation and collaboration through play.”
Additionally, players will be able to choose from over 1,200 LEGO themed Fortnite skins, with more reportedly on their way.
LEGO Fortnite is likely the first of many projects in LEGO and Epic Games “long-time partnership.” Last year, both Epic and LEGO aimed it’s focus on digital experiences, with extra eyes on “the metaverse” and all of its capabilities. Both companies hope to “build positive digital experiences” that inspires children and creates more fun for everyone to enjoy.
This collaboration is a far cry from LEGO’s previous recent partnerships like Animal Crossing, which mainly revolved around themed LEGO sets. That said, considering that this partnership with Epic Games is long term, it wouldn’t be too surprising to see Fortnite themed LEGO sets in the future.
Until then, fans can enjoy the wild and blocky adventures in LEGO Fortnite when it releases tomorrow December 7, 2023.
Fans can head over to the game’s official website for more information.
