Left 4 Dead Creator and Bad Robot Games Announce Latest Title, 4:Loop, at the 2025 Game Awards

This evening at the 2025 Game Awards, Left 4 Dead creator Mike Booth and J.J. Abrams with Bad Robot Games unveiled the studio’s latest online coop title, 4:Loop. Alongside a reveal trailer, Mike Booth shared information regarding an upcoming open playtest planned to become available to fans before release.

Set in a world destroyed by the mislead operation of an incredibly powerful machine, a rag tag group of genetically reviving survivors will have to use the very machine that froze the world to unfreeze it. With the trailer largely focusing on story and cinematic footage, gameplay appears to consist of traditional co-op shooter elements like enemy wave survival and obstacle courses as some moments feature bright red laser beam intended for the player to dodge. What happens in the story for said laser beams to be firing in the first place? Fans have been left up to speculation until the game’s playtest begins, however, no information has been shared on the subject so far.

The game is planned for release on PlayStation and PC.
