It seems like Sony and Microsoft are copying each other’s notes. Microsoft released the Xbox One S as a slimmer, slightly more powerful alternative to the original not too long ago, and soon it will be Sony’s turn.
According to Eurogamer, images appeared on the bidding site Gumtree before being discovered by shortman82 on Twitter. It was then that NeoGAF got wind of it.

The listing came with a plethora of images showcasing the box, what comes in it, the unit itself, and how it stacks up next to the original PS4.
Still, images are one thing, and the internet has been burned before by fakes-looking at you NX. People were naturally skeptical about the whole thing. Digital Foundry’s Richard Leadbetter did some research and visited the man claiming to have the device to see if he was lying. As the video from Eurogamer will show the man wasn’t lying. In the video, we are given another look at the PS4 Slim and its boot screen.
Eurogamer also says that they will have more info on the console soon so check back here for an update.
Not much is known about the console’s capabilities, but we can expect to hear more when Sony officially announces the PS4 Slim during their conference on September 7th. Reports suggest that Sony will also announce the upgraded PS4 Neo. You can read our previous coverage on the PS4 Neo here and here. Although if you are not into reading all that here’s the short version. The PS4 Neo is expected to have an upgraded CPU, GPU, and RAM and all games will have a dedicated “Neo Mode” allowing the game to play in 4K.
