A supposed leak on the PlayStation Store has revealed that the next expansion for Destiny 2, which is set to come out in March, will be called Gods of Mars. It will feature a new area for players called the Frigid Vale of Mars. The new expansion will also introduce a multitude of new content such as brand new missions, co-op activities, multiplayer arenas, new gear, weapons, armor, and a new enemy faction known as Charlemagne’s Remnants.
“Destiny 2 Expansion II: Gods of Mars sends your Guardian on a long journey to a brand-new destination—the Frigid Vale of Mars, with an array of new missions, adventures, and enemies to fight,” the now-removed PSN description states. “Charlemagne has reawoken on Mars and has imprisoned Rasputin within an ancient vault. Work with the elusive Ana Bray long thought to be dead, in order to combat Charlemagne’s Remnants, free Rasputin, and uncover the secrets of Clovis Bray.”
Although none of this is currently confirmed, a similar situation happened not so long ago when Microsoft leaked the Curse of Osiris expansion pack for Destiny 2, ironically. However, the Destiny 2 page on the Microsoft Store still has “Destiny 2-Expansion 2″ listed as the placeholder, so it looks like they haven’t dropped the ball on this one. Even though it does seem to be legit, it looks like fans will have to wait for further confirmation from Activision in order to get all the details on Destiny 2‘s next big expansion.
