A leaked game list posted on Reddit reveals that publisher 2K is working on an XCOM Avengers game, developed by Firaxis, in addition to a Borderlands spin-off. The leak unveils that the publisher is in the midst of releasing three unannounced titles in addition to an upcoming cover of the new NBA 2K22 that is said to feature a renowned athlete. The leak has been verified by Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier who tweeted:
The leak also details that the developer of XCOM is working in collaboration with 2K to create Marvel game. The new superhero game was described as a version of “XCOM with Marvel heroes,” according to the Reddit post. That means fans can expect a strategy-based game featuring some of their favorite Marvel superheroes like Captain America, Spiderman, Iron Man, and many more.
The Reddit post also disclosed that a new Borderlands spin-off is in the works and that it is currently being developed by Gearbox. According to the co-founder of Gearbox Randy Pitchford, he tweeted that any new Borderlands development would be solely done by Gearbox with no “co-development.” The spin-off game is apparently titled “Tiny Tina’s Wonderland,” and is expected the follow in suit with the gameplay of the main series.
The final new title talked about in the leak is a game called Codename Volt, a supernatural game developed by Hangar 13. The post described the game as a Saints Row meets Cthulhu combination. But, as all of these speculations are exciting news, we must wait until 2K releases or formally announces these titles to confirm their possibility.
