League of Legends has recently announced its newest champion, Yunara, making her the 171st champion to join the existing roster. She was designed as an attack damage carry (ADC), which is often referred to as a marksman character, who will be released in patch 25.14.

The champion Yunara was teased in the cinematic trailer for Spirit Blossom Beyond, and fans have been theorizing about her lore and gameplay mechanics since. In the trailer, it’s existing champion Xin Zhao who glimpses Yunara, who is seen in the trailer to be doing some form of meditation.

A recent press release reveals more about each of her abilities. Her passive is called Vow to the First Lands, which allows Yunara’s critical strikes to deal extra magic damage. A relatively simple passive in comparison to other champions that have been released in recent years.

Yunara’s Q ability is known as Cultivation of Spirit, which allows each of her attacks to grant her a stack of Unleash with critical attacks and hits on enemy champions, granting an extra stack. Once she reaches the max stacks of Unleash, she can reactivate her Q to gain attack speed, bonus damage, and splash damage in a small area.

Yunara’s W is called Arc of Judgment, which sends out a projectile prayer bead that damages and slows enemies as it travels, with extra damage being dealt at its endpoint. Yunara’s E is known as Kanmei’s step, which gives her a burst of movement speed.

The ultimate ability called Transcend One’s Self lasts for several seconds and will buff all of her other abilities. Her Q will automatically activate during the ultimate, her W will become Arc of Ruin, which will now be a beam that slows and damages in a line, and her E will become a dash known as Untouchable Shadows.

Yunara is also being teased as a part of the Darkin War, in which she was in the Kinnkou Order’s Fist of Shadow. She chose to sacrifice herself to contain the Darkin Glaive in the Spirit realm until Wyldbloom returned her ot the Mortal Realm. Her knowledge and techniques are foreign to the modern Ionia but will soon be playable in League of Legends.
