Latest Bungie Blog Post Details Changes For Eververse And The New Weapons Coming In Season Of The Drifter

Today on This Week At Bungie, the developer showcased the three new pinnacle weapons that every player is able to strive for, and talked about a big change coming to the Eververse. The three new pinnacle weapons are set for each activity like the last set. Vanguard’s pinnacle weapon is called the Oxygen SR3. It is a Solar Precision Scout Rifle. The unique perk it will come with is “Meganeura: Dragonfly deals more damage based on the number of precision hits made beforehand.” Crucible’s pinnacle weapon is a Void Lightweight Machine Gun called The Recluse. The weapon’s perk is “Master of Arms: Kills with any weapon improve this weapon’s damage for a short time.”

The Gambit pinnacle weapon is the first type of gun for Destiny 2. It is called 21% Delirium and is an Arc Rapid-Fire Machine Gun. The unique perk of the weapon is “Killing Tally: Kills increase this weapon’s damage until it is stowed or reloaded.”

Alongside the new pinnacle weapons, Bungie has detailed what other changes were made to weapons for Season of the Drifter. The biggest thing that Bungie has focused on is to make Legendary Power weapons a good option. However, players should take the time to set up and mod the weapon to bring up these types of weapons to the level of Exotic weapons. The main push behind the change was to make it so players can have more options and not rely on Exotic weapons because they deal the most damage.

The biggest change happening to the Eververse for Destiny 2 is the removal of the Prismatic Matrix.  It was implemented as a way to give more control over how players buy Eververse items. Now, on a weekly basis, there will be unique bundles available in Eververse that you can buy directly for Silver. This means that you will be able to buy the items that you want. All of the unique bundles will contain an exclusive vanity item that will only be available through that weekly bundle. The Prismatic facets will remain usable until March 5. Afterward, they will be dismantled into Bright Dust.

Season of the Drifter begins on March 5.
