A new update has revealed what’s next in store at Larian Studios. With the success of Baldur’s Gate 3 and the developer stepping away from the massive franchise, fans have wondered where the studio will go from here. Thankfully a recent Steam Community post has given fans their answer.
Alongside a sneak peek at the upcoming patch 7 for Baldur’s Gate 3, Larian revealed that two original projects are in-development, following through on their recent effort to focus on their own original IPs.
Larian shared a statement from its CEO Swen Vincke, expressing his excitement at the new direction the studio is moving too.
“I don’t know if we’re going to pull it off, but looking at our narrative, visual and gameplay plans, I think what we’re working on now will be our best work ever,” said Swen. “I get excited like a kid watching the key imagery, want to show it to everyone now and grumble in frustration at having to wait until it’s actually all working. Yes, it’s hype but it’s hype because it really looks and feels good.”
Nothing was revealed as to what these new projects will center round, only that more news on their development will be revealed later. Considering that the development is still at the very early stages, it’s highly unlikely fans will get an update in the next few months.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, GeForce Now, and PC via Steam. For more information and future updates head over to the game’s official website and social media
